As technology continuously improves, the production of building materials in architecture and interior design also improves. Different synthetic compounds and natural elements are artificially combined to come up with materials that are durable, low maintenance, and can stand all forms of weathering. One of the most popular materials that emerged from this experimental manufacture is UPVC or vinyl. Vinyl is a strong chloride that can mimic the surface of wood and metals, used in many construction products like doors and windows.

Among the most famous door types manufactured from UPVC are French doors. UPVC French doors were introduced in the market several years ago, but they recently caught public attention in as since they became a trend in many celebrity residential homes. UPVC French doors today are more expensive than how much they were a few years back, but their prestige and quality have dramatically improved. Before, UPVC French doors received negative feedback because they could not tolerate extreme temperature and thermal change. Many cases were reported wherein UPVC surfaces expanded, melted, or cracked upon subjection to very hot or very cold temperature.

UPVC French doors today are very different. They are now very durable, in fact as much as ten times more durable than the typical wooden French doors. They too require little maintenance. Their texture and visual appearance are formidably sleek, and can remain that way for several years. UPVC French doors are not vulnerable to water damage, termites, corrosion, and other destructive forces, so their more expensive price in comparison to traditional doors certainly offset the costs of maintenance and repair.
